You probably stumbled on my page because you are expecting a baby, hope to be expecting a baby soon, or know of someone who is expecting a baby. I hope you find my website informative and enjoyable.

From the Greek meaning 'woman servant', a Doula serves as a aide to the mother, partner and baby through the birth experience. Doulas provide non-medical support by offering labor preparation, continuous labor support and post-partum assistance.

I am there to support mothers through the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of labor. It is nice to have someone present at your birth that is not emotionally attached, someone that has been through this many time and is educated on the many different options you have available to you.

Doulas and Dads:

There are many ways in which a Doula can support the Dad or support person. In most cases the Doula is phoned when the mother starts Active Labor. For example it is normal for a first time mom to take 36-72 hours to birth her baby. That is a long time for EVERYONE and having someone else there to allow you to sleep, eat, take a walk, whatever you may need without leaving her unattended.

I enjoy what I do! I always thought I would be a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital, but this is SOOO much better!! I get to give my 100% attention to my clients, doing whatever it takes to get the baby delivered safely, even if it's walking miles around the hospital, walking up 25 flight of stairs, and hours of massge. It is all worth it when I sneak quietly out the door looking behind to see a Healthy Mother and Baby.
